- See the courtyards and streets in the old town
There are experiences that escape from social and web reviews, but you can live it only once while walking with your own legs into the streets, footpaths and alleys of the cities you are visiting. Lecce, the Barocco Capital, hides so many secret places. Private houses and coutyards will bewitch your eyes. Places that escape from the usual paths like Duomo, Santa Croce (also viewed from top by reservation), Piazza Sant'Oronzo and the Castle Carlo V. Google Maps will not help you to find them.
Let the curiosity inspire you and explore the city. You won't be lost: Lecce and their citizens will always help you! - Tipical food (km 0) in warm and evocative places
If you are visiting Lecce, you cannot be an a restricted diet. For breakfast, lunch and dinner, you'll find always new courses wich will seduce you with colors and smells from the bar and pub of the old town. Pasticciotto (oval dessert filled with cream) for breakfast, Pittule (fried bread like) and Parmigiana (aubergines, tomato sauce, cheeses, basil and ham or mortadella) for lunch. Many light and typical food for Dinner (bean and chicory or "Ciceri e Tria").
For an aperitif with a unique flavor you can choose a glass of red wine and a cutting board with typical products and finger food delicacies. We highly recommended the "Cantina delle Streghe" in the heart of the Old Town just a few steps from Porta Rudiae. - Relax between cocktails and readings
If you wanna have some relaxing time after a dayout, a sleepless night, a day at the beach, we recommended a stop at the "Ombra del Barocco".
This is a very characteristic place with star-shaped vaults and tables in the street near Duomo, where you can stop to drink a Leccese coffee (coffee with ice and almond milk) or to drink your favorite cocktail reading a book buyed at the closest library. Of course you can also have dinner here with surprising courses rivisited in shape and style.
